  18. oil-drilling ventures that made him a millionaire at 26. At its
  19. height, in 1949, the $200 million empire assembled by the "King
  20. of the Wildcatters" included a 15,000-acre ranch, a Detroit
  21. steel mill, a chemical company and the flashy $21 million
  22. Shamrock Hotel in Houston.
